Mould needs three things and a Dubai AC provides all of them: a wet surface, no light, and a steady supply of dust to feed on. In practice that means four places. The drain tray under the coil, which holds condensate all summer. The drain pipe, which silts up and then stops draining at all. The coil face, where warm room air meets cold metal. And the interior of the duct runs, where anything that gets past the filter settles.
The dark spotting around a grille is the edge of that, not the source of it. Wiping it off makes the grille look right and changes nothing. The growth producing those spores is on a wet surface further in and the fan is still pushing air across it, so we treat drainage, coil and ducts rather than the part you were looking at.
It also means one visit is not the whole answer. Before we leave, we tell you what created the standing water in your system, because if that stays the same the growth comes back.
That damp note in the first minute of cooling is air being pulled across something growing. It is the earliest reliable signal you get.
Small black or dark green marks on the vent face or the ceiling next to it. Visible growth means established growth behind it.
A cough, blocked nose or itchy eyes that settle after a day or two out of the flat and return the evening you get back.
If someone was managing well and now isn’t, the air they breathe at home is worth ruling out. Tell us before the visit so we can plan around them.
A brown ring means the drain tray or drain pipe has backed up. Standing water is the cause of mould, not a side effect of it.
A closed-up apartment over a Dubai summer, or a unit switched off while you travelled, is a warm damp box with no airflow. It is a very common trigger.
Disinfectant on top of a dirty surface does not work. The mechanical clean comes first every time, and skipping it is the single reason mould treatments fail.

Water-based, child & pet-safe
A duct system has surfaces you cannot put a cloth on. A cold ULV fogger turns an eco-friendly, water-based product into droplets fine enough to stay airborne through the length of a duct run and settle on every internal surface, including the far side of a bend. Spraying a liquid at the grille wets the first half metre and nothing else.
Water-based matters because this is a service people book for their children. Our products carry no solvent, so nothing is left volatilising off your ceiling for a week afterwards and there is no chemical smell to air out. We will still tell you how long to stay out of the room, and if anyone in the household has asthma we want to know before we arrive, not after.

There is no honest single number for this one, so we don’t print one. Treating spotting in one drain tray and treating growth through a whole ducted villa are different jobs, and any company quoting you a firm figure before looking has either guessed high or is planning to revise it in your living room.

You can make the grille look clean, and the smell will come back. What you wiped off was growth that reached a visible surface; what produced it is on a wet surface further in, and it is still there and still producing spores that the fan pushes into the room. Wiping the vent is the AC equivalent of mopping the floor around a leak.
We are cleaners, not doctors, so we will not diagnose anyone. What we can tell you is what customers consistently report: blocked noses, itchy eyes, a cough that eases after a day or two away from home, and existing asthma that gets harder to manage. Then filters every one to three months and a duct clean once a year keeps the conditions from re-forming. If we thought a single visit was permanent we would say so.
A single affected unit is usually a half day. A whole ducted system with growth in the runs is three to five hours with a three-technician team, sometimes a full day in a villa. The fogging itself is quick. It is the mechanical cleaning beforehand that takes the time, and skipping that is what makes a treatment fail.
