Dubai dust doesn’t sit on top of your furniture. It works into sofa fabric, carpet pile and mattress padding, where a vacuum reaches the first few millimetres and no further. We shampoo, extract and sanitise the material itself, with products that are safe around children and pets.
Every Dubai home takes on fine desert dust continuously. It comes through windows, doors and the AC system, and it is light enough to stay airborne until it settles into whatever fibre is nearest. Soft furnishings are the biggest fibre surface in the flat. That is where most of it ends up.
Humidity is the second half of the problem. A mattress absorbs body moisture every night, and in a warm, humid room it does not fully dry out. Dust, moisture and shed skin are exactly what dust mites live on, which is why a mattress in this climate needs more than a vacuum.
Upholstery also holds odour. If a sofa smells faintly stale before it looks dirty, that is the fabric, not the air.
This is the whole list. We would rather do three things thoroughly than advertise twelve and rush them.
Both faces of every cushion, plus the arms, the back panel and the frame underneath. We test the fabric on a hidden section first, shampoo it, then pull the dirt and most of the water back out with a wet extraction vacuum. The piece is sanitised afterwards, so it is treated as well as cleaned.
Loose rugs and fitted carpet. The dry grit comes out first, because shampooing over sand grinds it deeper into the pile instead of lifting it. Then the carpet is shampooed and extracted edge to edge, with the walked-on lanes worked separately from the rest.
Shampooed, extracted and sanitised, on both sides where the mattress can be turned. This is the piece that most needs it in Dubai: skin cells and body moisture collect in the padding all year, and the dust mites that feed on them are a common reason for waking up congested.
A stale note when you sit down, or when the room has been shut up for a day. That is the fabric holding odour.
Head rests, arm rests and the seat you always use. Body oils build up there faster than anywhere else.
A stuffy nose or itchy eyes in the morning that clear during the day usually points at the mattress and the bedding.
Hair works its way between the fibres, and so does dander. Vacuuming lifts the hair you can see and leaves the rest.
Blotting moves a stain down into the padding rather than out of it. It usually reappears at the surface within weeks.
If you inherited the sofa with the flat, or it has been over a year, assume it is due.

Floors and skirting are covered first. Each piece is shampooed, extracted with a wet vacuum to pull the dirt and most of the moisture back out, then sanitised.

We extract until the piece is only slightly damp, then tell you how long to leave it and how to speed that up. We clear up after ourselves. The job is backed for 3 days.

For the price that I paid, they sent three personnel to clean our vents and AC duct. They also have a camera in their vacuum and a monitor so that you can see what they are cleaning. Consider me a repeat customer - I plan to have my vents and AC ducts cleaned every 3 to 6 months to ensure my newborn baby breathes fresh air here in Dubai.

We don’t publish a furniture price, because the honest answer depends on what you have: a two-seater and a king mattress are not the same job as an eight-seater L-shape and three rugs. We extract until the piece is only slightly damp rather than leaving it wet, and we tell you on the day how long yours needs and how to speed it up. Booking a mattress in the morning is the safer option if you need to sleep on it that night.
Yes. We use water-based, eco-friendly products across all our cleaning work, and they are safe around children and pets once the surface has dried. We still ask you to keep the room clear while we are extracting, mostly because of the equipment and the trailing hoses.
Often, but not always, and we will tell you which before we start rather than after. Anything water-based usually lifts. Dye transfer, ink, bleach marks and stains that have been sitting in the padding for months may fade rather than disappear. A stain that has already been scrubbed is the hardest, because scrubbing pushes it further in and can damage the pile.
Once a year for a typical household, and more often if you have pets, small children, or a sofa that gets eaten on. Mattresses benefit from the same yearly cycle. It is worth doing at handover too, before you use furniture that came with the property.
